There is an anti-cheat system running in the game which is analyzing your in-game behavior. And if you exceed the allowed number of cheat-points then you will receive a warning or a ban.
We us a progressive ban system: warning — 3 hours and minus 100 rating points — 1 day and minus 200 rating points — 2 days and minus 300 rating points — permanently. When you receive a permanent ban you will not be able to restore your account.
We strongly recommend not to use any assistant software to avoid bans.
The random opponent selection is composed of several consecutive search stages:
An opponent whose rating differs from the player’s not more than by 40% or an opponent who won the similar number of points during the last round with a deviation of ±30% is selected.
Each letter is worth a certain number of points equal to that letter’s position in the word.
For example, let’s take a look the word “chair”:
С → 1 point
H → 2 points
A → 3 points
I → 4 points
R → 5 points
Total: 15 points
There are also two different kinds of bonuses on the game board: those that multiply the points for a letter (x2, x3), and those that multiply the points for an entire word (w2, w3). These bonuses can have a very significant effect on a word’s point value.
For example, let’s say there’s a x2 bonus on “I”. In this case, instead of four points, the letter will be worth eight points, so the word will be worth 19 points in all.
If there is a w2 bonus on one of the letters, the word “chair” will be worth 30 points rather than 15. If a word contains bonuses of both varieties, the points from the x2/x3 bonuses are counted first, and then the total points for the word are multiplied by w2/w3. For example, if the letter “I” has an x2 bonus and the letter “C” has a c3 bonus, the word will be worth 57 points.
Your opponent may have lost their internet connection, quit the game, or the device he was playing on may have run out of battery. If your opponent does not complete their turn within 24 hours, the game will end automatically. If this happens and the game is “in progress” for both players, auto-lose/auto-win will be activated. If the game is not “in progress” for one of the opponents, it will end automatically.
All the players with a free version of the game have Lives (HP). The Lives are required to start battles with opponents. A life is written off from your lives balance when you start a game. If you win, one life is given back (if you loose - not). Lives are automatically restored to the maximum amount in some time. Lives restoration cool down may be reduced by upgrading your Library or by equipping an item with a cool down reduction effect. Also you can purchase an instant Lives full-restoration in the in-game store. Sometimes free Lives can be given when you watch a videoadvertising. You may request Lives from your friends as well.
If your opponent goes 24 hours without responding to your challenge (i.e. they don't take their turn), the game is cancelled and your life is returned.
The number of ranking points you gain or lose after winning or losing depends on the difference between your rank and that of your opponent. If you beat someone whose rank is higher than yours, you earn more ranking points. However, if you lose to someone whose rank is lower than yours, you lose more points. The rule works the same way for a tie, where the player who has the higher rank loses points and the player with the lower rank gains them. You will receive more rating points if you win in a “Fair Play” game. The amount of the rating points received depends on the Library level as well.
There are seasons in the game. When a new season begins, all player`s rankings are reset to their initial values so everyone has a chance to fight for first place on the leaderboard again. When the season ends, everyone who won a prize-winning place gets a reward in the form of coins, and their names are inscribed forever into Words of Clans history in the Hall of Fame.
You can start a “Fair Play’ game against an opponent from his profile page or from the game results page. It’s not free of charge. A player has to pay several coins to challenge an opponent to play a “Fair Play” game.
If your opponent has not responded to your challenge within a 24 hours, the coins will be returned to your account.
The rating is distributed in the following way as a result of a “Fair Play” game:
Library bonuses do not influence the “Fair Play” game multiplier while calculating victory or defeat rating points.
A player’s level depends on how many games they have won. Below you can find a chart showing how many wins it takes to reach each level.

It may be that the conditions required to unlock the achievement were fulfilled in a game that was ended automatically (auto-lose/auto-win). Most achievements can only be unlocked if a turn is completed by both opponents.
The achievement Top Manager (for increasing the level of your clan 10 days in a row) is only given to the Clan Leader.
A whole Library level is counted as a shelf. For example, in order to obtain the achievement Gloss (for filling a whole shelf with magazines), you need to raise the Library level by reading only magazines.
Вы не можете участвовать в турнирах по одной из следующих причин:
You can get only two books of each type for finding the words with some certain length on the game board. If you have 2 or more books of the same type in your Library, then new books of that type will not be added to it when you find words of the appropriate length.
However, if you have less than 2 books of some certain type, then the books will be added to your Library for finding the words once again.
This number shows how many books of a particular type you have collected to read.
The maximum Library ratio in the clan modifier equals 1,3.
Only words with the required number of letters count. In other words, if you need to find a 7-letter word, words with 8, 9, or more letters will not count.
Every player can create almost any item in the workshop using your scrolls.
Items which can be created are grouped in bundles. You will create a random item from a certain bundle. At the same time it’s impossible to create an item which you already have.
Items creation takes time. However a player can accelerate the items creation process using coins.
You can get scrolls in one of the following ways:
Yes it will. When you disassemble a bundle with an item inside which has a passive effect, this effect will stay with the player forever.
Any player of level 3 or higher can join a clan or create their own.
The “Clan” section becomes available upon reaching level . When you reach level 3, please restart the game.
Clan members are divided into four ranks: recruit, Elder, Deputy Leader, and Leader.
Responsibilities by rank:
Recruit
A player becomes a recruit automatically after joining a clan. Recruits have access to all the game types, same as other clan members.
Elder
This rank is above recruit, but below Deputy Leader. Elders can:
Deputy Leader
A Deputy Leader is the Clan Leader’s trusted lieutenant. They can do a lot more than Elders or recruits. Deputy Leaders can:
Leader
The Leader can do more than anyone else. The Clan Leader can:
Maximum number of clan members: 40. A clan can only have one Leader and up to ten Deputy Leaders. There is no limit on the number of Elders and Recruits.
To transfer clan leadership to another player, the Clan Leader needs to promote one player from Deputy Leader to Leader. The previous Clan Leader will then be demoted to Deputy Leader.
The Clan Leader will automatically be demoted to Deputy Leader if they do not log in for more than 30 days. The Deputy Leader with the most activity in Clan Battles will become the new Clan Leader.
Requirements for selecting the new Clan Leader:
Clan modifier equals the product of your level, rating (the past one or one of the current season, depending on which one is greater), effect from the equipped items (for clan modifier increase), Library factor and Grail factor divided by 1000.
In other words: the greater your rating, player level, Library level and items effects, then the bigger your usefulness for the clan.
The clan modifier is calculated as follows: (player level) × (player rating) × (items effects) × (Library ratio) × (Grail ratio) / 1000.
The biggest rating is taken into account from the following two: your current one, or the one you finished the last season with.
If your modifier is decreased, that means that the rating from the last year is smaller than the one from the year before.
You can only get a reward for reaching a milestone once. If you move to another clan and reach the required clan level, the reward is only given to players who haven't received one yet.
If you receive a milestone chest, then the reward from it can not be doubled by watching advertisements.
Items from a clan quest reward are not added to your bag if there are no free slots in it and it’s “packed full” of items already.
To leave your clan, go to "Menu" → "Clan" → "Roster". At the very bottom of the screen, in the line with your information, is a little door.
The number of words on the board in clan quests changes according to a sine wave pattern. Once you have completed a few difficult levels you will get a few easier ones, and then you'll get harder ones again. The point of this is to let clans that aren't quite as powerful, but are very disciplined, catch up to clans that are more powerful, but lazy.
Boosters grant temporary bonuses that allow you to complete clan quests more quickly.
A total of eight boosters are available:
Multiple boosters can be active at the same time, but they have limited duration.
The number of boosters you can take into battle with you depends on your intelligence (the blue flask). You can increase your intelligence by increasing your Library level. Your intelligence goes up by five at the following levels: 11, 16, 21, 26, and 31.
When calculating the average number of quests completed in a day, only those quests started by a clan with 26+ players count. If, in this calculation, the clan still completes the average number of quests in a day, the clan can take part in the nomination.
Yes, all those in a clan at the end of a sprint get the reward.
No, on the sprint results screen you will see information that your clan has come in a particular place, but you won’t get a reward.
Similarly to awards, if you enter before the end of the week, you get an achievement. If later, then you don’t.
Yes, you will get a reward and an achievement as well.
The registration of a level complete is performed at the clan quest restart.
The sprints start every Sunday of the current week at 9:00 pm (UTC) and end on Saturday of the following week at 8:59 pm (UTC).
An opponent selection in the Battle for the Grail is performed randomly among all the pretender-clans due to battle against the Keeper-clan.
Time is chosen at a new Grail creation which marks the drop-time of the Grail to a random player within the next 3 hours.
When the time comes for the Grail to be dropped, then the drop chance is determined with a relatively small probability for each player who can get the Grail.
The grail may go only to the Clan Leader or to its Deputy.
The Grail may be dropped (received) only at the same time, when a clan quest reward is given.
Following a successful defense, the clan that holds the Grail will get to rest for 3 hours. During this time, no one from any clans can attack the defending clan.
If the clan obtained the Grail as a reward for a clan quest or by winning it back, the clan that holds it will get to rest for 6 hours.
